Celebrating the history, culture, and people of Japan, the Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the largest and oldest festivals of its kind in the United States. Admission is $16 for adults and kids ages 13 and older; $12 for ages 3-12; $8 for adult Garden members, and free for children age 2 and under. Festival-level members and their children get in free.

Balloon Glow:  Friday, September 15 from 5 – 9:15PM

The balloons “glow” like huge fireflies, a truly magical scene, and one not to be missed! The balloons do not launch during the balloon glow but for a portion of the evening (weather permitting) the rope line will be released, and spectators will be invited to walk around to enjoy the view and chat with pilots and crew. Don’t miss the parachute team and fireworks finale. Live DJ, food trucks, concessions, and picnic areas available. Free admission.

Balloon Race: Saturday, September 16 from 2 – 6PM

Fields open at 2PM with live DJ, food concessions, performances from the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team, and other performances, games, and giveaways. The “Hare” balloon launches at 4:30 with the remaining “Hound” balloons launching at 4:45.

LESA’s 11th Annual “Brew in the Lou” Festival will offer one-stop tasting of St. Louis’s best beer, wine, spirits and food favorites when it returns to Francis Park, Saturday October 14, 2023, from 1-5 p.m. Nearly 100 tasting and vendor stations will line the banks of The Lily Pond, featuring local, regional and national craft breweries, distilleries and wineries.

The St. Louis Beer Fest takes over the St. Louis Science Center after hours, featuring over 40 breweries, 120 beers and access throughout the museum. Admission includes samplings from participating breweries, as well as access to all the exhibits.

General Admission is $50 (8 – 11PM) and includes unlimited samples of beer, access throughout the museum and exhibits. Food is sold separately.

VIP Admission is $65 (7 – 11PM) and includes all the benefits of General Admission, plus an added hour and specialty beers for the first hour.

Bring the family and go for a beautiful scenic ride along the Meramec river on the 12″ gauge Railroad. This fall is expected to produce some beautiful scenery as the leaves change colors and begin to fall. Trains pulled by historic live steam locomotives and diesels will take you on a 30 minute journey that travels just over 2 miles through the trees and along the bluffs in the Meramec river valley. Trains start their scheduled departures from the station at 9:45 am.,with trains departing about every 30 minutes. The final train leaves at 4:45 pm.
