As Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, there’s no one I can think of who embodies the virtue of giving more than a mother. We give to everyone else and willingly put the needs of our family first. If you’re like us, that can get overwhelming at times, ESPECIALLY when it comes to life’s special occasions! This is what inspired Ashley and I to start our business Party Hop!.
On A Mission for Moms
We started this company with a mission to help moms. At Party Hop, we accept ALL Moms – the Pinterest mom, the Amazon mom, the plan-way-in-advance mom, the do-it-last-minute mom, the crafty mom, the mom without a creative bone in her body, the single mom, the working mom, the mom with a to-do list a mile long. We love you all and can relate to you all! You see, we’ve stayed up all night looking at every party picture on Pinterest (we have the bags under our eyes to prove it!), spent entire paychecks on Etsy and knew there had to be an easier way to throw a party. Especially after throwing five first birthday parties between the two of us!
We began to envision a one-stop shop. A shop where you can get everything you need instead of spending endless hours running around town or surfing the web only to realize by the time you remember to place your order that it’s going to take two to three weeks to ship. Then, inevitably the mom guilt sets in. In an effort to say bye-bye to mom guilt, we created six themed kids birthday parties that have been carefully curated and promise to leave your guests wondering, how does she do it all?
Party Hop 101: The Basics of the Rental Box
Each rental box includes six party essentials: a birthday banner, party garland, party fan backdrop, table runner, cake topper, and a themed printable. All you have to do is choose a theme, rent your party box, setup, party and return. It’s really as simple as that! For all you creative, overachiever moms…yes, you can totally add to these essential party goods and put your own personal touch on each theme. Not only did we create our party rental boxes to make mom life easier, but they are also cost-effective and environmentally friendly. For all you STL moms, we also offer same-day pickup for all the items purchased on our website. So, if you realize on Thursday that you need a cute first birthday crown, a gold vintage high chair or some balloons…you can pick it up in Kirkwood and be ready to party by the weekend!
Every product or service we create comes from trying to solve the problem of the busy mom juggling everything at once, which is impossible we know. We can dream big, right? In addition to our rental and retail products available in the shop we also offer services to help you save your time and sanity while sacrificing none of the pretty details. After several people asked, we decided to also offer party planning, party setup, and photo backdrop services. We work with each client individually to figure out what their needs are and to help them figure out where our services can best be of use for them. Whether you don’t know where to start or just need a little help along the way, we are here to point you in the right direction!
At the end of the day, I think we can all agree. It’s not about the perfect Pinterest-worthy party. It’s about the smiles on their faces and the special feeling and memories created that day. If we can have any part to do with making one more special family memory while doing what we love, then our day is made!

Ashley Detweiler (pictured left) is a mom to three cool kids, Olivia (8), Jack (2) and Campbell (1) and married to her husband Jason for three years. She somehow survived the planning of three first birthdays and is now passionate about helping other busy woman out there. She loves all things fashion, never takes life too seriously, and has a work hard play, hard mentality. When she’s not chasing around her crazy kids, you can find her working out, shopping or squeezing in some time with the girls.
Ashley Roberts (pictured right) is a mom to two sweet babies Ford (3) and Reese (1), married to her hubby of six years Tony who she met in college and dog momma to a golden doodle Dexter. She loves any creative outlet, crafting and has a true passion for all things planning. The dream of being a mama and entrepreneur is something that has been a longtime coming and she is thrilled to be starting a company that includes all her favorite things.
