Local Mother’s Day Ideas for Every Kind of Mama

0

Looking for a special way to honor the mom in your life this Mother’s Day? One sure way to make her day is to spend time doing something she loves. Maybe she loves a good brunch, or maybe she prefers to live life on the adventurous side. Whatever kind of mama you’re trying to treat, we’ve got you covered.

Check out these ideas for celebrating the special mama in your life. (And if you’re a mom and your kids are too young or too far away to treat you, two words: treat yo’self!).

For the Foodie Mama

Is the mama in your life a sucker for a good meal? Why not wine and dine her at a local brunch spot? She’ll be able to enjoy good food and drinks, and you’ll be able to enjoy her company. A win-win. Here are a couple of places to give a try this year:

Grace Meat + Three – Fried chicken, cornmeal-crusted catfish, mac n’ cheese, and greens … need I say more?

The Shack – With a few locations in the St. Louis area, you can’t go wrong with their perfectly named meals, like the “Starchy & Cluck,” their take on chicken and waffles.

For the Chill Mama

This mama would love some peace and quiet this Mother’s Day. Give her a break from the kids and let her binge watch her favorite show in her pajamas all day guilt-free. Bring her back a special treat from Nothing Bundt Cakes to cap off the day (yum!).

For the Self-Care Mama

Now this one can be a little tricky because self-care means different things to different people. However, if you know the mama in your life enjoys getting a mani/pedi or a much needed massage, go for it! Think about what will cause her to simply stop and care for herself. A perfectly scented candle wouldn’t hurt, either.

For the Adventurous Mama

This mama would prefer to get out and do something instead, so think outside the box. Visit Forest Park for a nice bike ride and plan a picnic. Visit the Saint Louis Zoo for their Mother’s Day brunch. Really want to go all out? Participate in the Mother’s Day 5K & 10K run/walk at Cricket Field in Forest Park. However you plan it, keep it fun for this mama.

Whether you are honoring an expectant mama, an experienced mama, an honorary mama, an aunt, or a grandma, think about what would make her smile. That extra step will mean the world to her.
