Nothing says summer like watching movies under the stars. As much fun as it is to project a movie in your own backyard, there’s something special about gathering as a community and relaxing together. Check out some local spots you can take the family for a movie night under the stars!


 

Brentwood Movies in the Park

Come enjoy a free movie night under the stars at the gorgeous new Brentwood Park! Doors open at 8pm.

Family Movie Night Series at Bluebird Park Amphitheater

 
Bring the family to watch a movie on the big outdoor screen in Bluebird Park!
The Ellisville Parks Department is hosting a FREE family friendly movie night series. Just bring your own chairs and blankets. Starts at 8pm.

You, your family, your neighbors, and everyone else is invited! These events are free to the community. Neighbors and community organizations usually start gathering around 7pm, and the show begins as soon as it’s dark.

Movies at the Marketplace

Bring the lawn chairs and blankets to The Marketplace for an outdoor movie night! Grab dinner from the food truck, play games, and stop by the concession stand for all your movie goodies before the show. All movies are G, PG, or PG-13 and begin at sunset. Admission is free. Lot opens at 6:30pm. Movie begins at sunset (around 8pm).

Prairie Farms movie nights are back in the Together Credit Union Plaza on select Wednesdays all summer long! Don’t miss out on fun for the whole family complete with movies on the outdoor big screen, yard games, & more! Fun begins at 6P and the show starts at Dusk! Select dates featuring face painting & family fun, occasional character appearances, balloon art & more!

Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and head out to Boulevard Park Amphitheater to enjoy Movies in the Park. Movies begin at dusk. In the event of inclement weather, the Rainout Line will be updated for movie status.  You may call the Rainout Line at (636) 202-2027 or view updates on the Parks main page. All movies begin at dusk!

Edwardsville Movies in the Park

The public is invited to see free family movies on the first Saturday of the month from June to September. All movies will be shown at Edwardsville City Park Bandstand located next to the public library at sunset.  Come early, lay down your blanket, take part in pre-movie community activities.  Movies begin at 8:15pm!

Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, friends & family and join us at the Maryland Plaza Fountain for an evening of cinema, community & refreshments! Our summer movies will screen at sunset with trivia taking place shortly before.

Lawn Chair Movie Night in Union City Park

Free movie series held on the third Friday evening of the month in the large grassy area next to the Large Pavilion. The movie series is free and family friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and coolers! All friends of the community are invited. In the event of rain, the movie will be pulled under the Large Pavilion.

St. Louis Art Museum Art Hill Movie Series

Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

The 2023 Art Hill Film Series is a free, non-ticketed event held on three summer Fridays: July 14, July 21, and July 28. The party starts at 6 pm with music and food trucks, and the feature film will begin at 9 pm.

Tower Grove Nature Night Film Series

Meet at the West End of Tower Grove Park for a summer series of free family fun and film screenings! Fun, educational hands-on activities and demonstrations that tie into the movie theme kick off at 6:30 pm. The movie begins at 8:00 pm sharp.

Skyview Drive-In

This gem in Belleville, IL is worth the late summer night! Things start with a bang May 26 with the new Little Mermaid on the big screen!

Pricing:

$13 for adults,(children 12 and under are free with a paying adult, $3 per additional child)

Instructions are given upon arrival to instruct you where to park to get the best view based on your type of vehicle. Movie audio is streamed through your FM radio. FYI, cash only!  Plan accordingly. 

 

Starlite Drive-In

15605 N. State Highway 21, Cadet, Missouri

This drive-in movie theater located in Cadet will take you back in time! Just over an hour from St. Louis, this is also a great value!

Starlite kicks the summer off May 26 with The Little Mermaid and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Fast X and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. You’ll enjoy the sounds of the movie via FM radio!

  1. Thanks for sharing our Dutchtown Movie Nights! It’s our fifth year running and we always have a great time. We invite folks from all over the region to come hang out with us for some entertainment and to learn about all the amazing things we’re doing here on the South Side!
