Family-Friendly Patios in St. Louis to Enjoy This Spring!

Spring is HERE! The days are longer and warmer, and that means one thing … OUTDOOR DINING! We love dining outside together as a family and our children are much more likely to sit at the table with us, knowing there’s so much to explore outside! Not to mention we don’t feel quite as bad if we leave a bit of a mess on the floor. 🙂 Here’s a roundup of family-friendly patios in St. Louis to check out this spring and summer!

Missouri’s first food truck garden is located in Affton, bringing a rotation of the St. Louis area’s favorite food trucks. But, there’s also a lot of space to sit and enjoy food, drinks, live music and even movies with your friends and family. There are picnic tables set up throughout 9 Mile Garden, but you also can bring your own lawn chairs. 

The pioneers of the original Gastrobar concept, Bar Louie combines great drinks, exceptional food, and awesome service to deliver a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere for its communities of guests to enjoy when they please. Your kiddos will love being right by the train station if you go to the Kirkwood location – there’s also a location in St. Charles!

Billy G’s boasts a vast menu with quality food, a family friendly atmosphere and a large patio! Tables, booths, a fire pit… you’ll forget you’re nestled in the heart of downtown Kirkwood! Pizza, burgers, killer salads… they have something for everyone!

For a gourmet night out, BrickTop’s Patio at Plaza Frontenac is absolutely gorgeous.  They have a nice kid’s menu and the tables are covered in paper so that the kids never run out of room to color.  

This out-of-the-way relaxed American restaurant has a patio that overlooks Mallard Lake and walking path at Creve Coeur park.  

The Frisco Barroom boasts a menu of elevated tavern bites and a wonderful cocktail selection! Enjoy the heated patio, complete with fireplace, on the main level, or take in views of downtown Webster atop their rooftop patio! They also have a wonderful happy hour.

A quintessential American historical market cafe tucked away in Old Town Florissant – a must visit! Perfect ambiance and prices— and kiddos are welcome!

Katie’s Pizza needs no introduction from us, but you DO need to visit these patios STAT!

Mellow Mushroom has some excellent pizza, a kid-friendly patio, and live music on Saturdays. Mellow is a favorite for locals!

The first Mezcaleria in Saint Louis, with the largest selection of mezcal in the area! Cuisine & cocktails from the heart of Oaxaca-Mexico. The gorgeous bright colors will captivate your kiddos and the patio is perfect for people watching on the Boulevard!

Perennial is a small batch brewery, tasting room, and restaurant located in the heart of Old Webster Groves. Perennial on Lockwood is a collaboration between Olive + Oak and Perennial Artisan Ales offering the best in food, beer (wine and spirits, too) and hospitality in a beautifully remodeled historic garage. They have a great family-friendly patio!

Robust is a charming wine bar perfect for an adults night out or a meal with the kids (they have a great kids menu!). The wine selection is extensive and the shareable plates and assortment of cheeses will make it hard to choose! Reservations for the patio are highly encouraged. 

Rosalita’s is the perfect patio for a warm evening, or a chilly one (with firepits and fireplaces!). This spot is great for large groups, or for a simple family gathering. The decor is eclectic and upscale, but you’ll still feel right at home with your little ones.

This lovely patio in downtown Maplewood has frequent live music, onsite microbrewery, locally sourced American fare with crayons and coloring pages for the kids.

Nestled in University City, Taco Buddha is a favorite with the locals and boasts delicious breakfast burritos (and margaritas!) The patio is heated for those chillier spring days. 

Also nestled in University City, Winslow’s Table is a quintessential cozy spot where you can enjoy a delicious bakery good or hearty brunch, or lunch or dinner on the patio! The chicken tacos off the kid’s menu are excellent. Be sure to take a goat cheese cookie to go! Chef’s kiss!

With an 11,000 sq. ft. dog-friendly patio, 7 bars, 6 cabanas, a restaurant with a New Orleans Creole inspired menu, and several beautiful event spaces Molly’s has something for everyone, including families! Molly’s restaurant is open 7 days a week and serves Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Brunch.

This classic Greek restaurant in Richmond Height is a fun place to take the kids for something completely different from amazing hummus to flaming cheese that will leave the kids speechless.

Pack up the troops and head to this open air patio in the heart of Francis Park! By day, fuel up with coffee from Coma Coffee Roasters and pastries from Whisk. Enjoy beer, pizza, and other bites for lunch and dinner! Rockwell Beer Garden is just a stone’s throw from Francis Park’s playground, so the kids will have an opportunity to burn off some steam!

The Abbey is West Belleville’s most comfortable hotspot with a fabulous patio! Breakfast and lunch paninis, homemade soups, salads, breads, and new to the menu is their famous Gelato – made daily in their kitchen! They feature Fair Trade coffees, teas, chocolates and crafts from around the globe.
