Being an always on-the-go styled family, we eat out more often than I would like to. Between sports and programs and the late-night games, pizza is an often choice by my boys. Here are a few of our favorite pizza spots.
Imo’s 1000 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139
You know you’re a local if you love the original thin crust style pizza that Imo’s offers. This square-cut pie is a part of St. Louis tradition and history. With over 100 franchise locations across Missouri, we have one that we love the most. Our favorite Imo’s (because they are different depending on location) is the one-off Hampton and 40, close to the Saint Louis Science Center and the Saint Louis Zoo. This was one of the locations I lived in on occasional family outings as a child. Now every once in a while, we take our boys to dine in the spacious Imo’s. It offers dine-in and carryout options available and it is a very family-friendly environment. Ironically this location sees a lot of tourists that are visiting our city considering the location. They offer a variety of pizzas, pastas, appetizers, sandwiches and desserts.
Pi Pizzeria 400 N Euclid Ave. St. Louis, MO 63108
Another Pizza that is near and dear to St. Louis is Pi (3.14)! Pi Pizzeria is known more for their deep-dish style that our neighbor city Chicago offers. The cornmeal crust alone is one that continues to keep the crowd going. Pi Pizzeria was first opened back on March 14, 2008, which is also known as Pi Day. I would consider Pi very family and kid-friendly as well with patio seating at certain locations. It could also be a date-night for you and your boo to enjoy. The CWE location and a few others have dimmer lighting and a classy vibe with a full bar as well. My kids love to eat here because of the deep dish alone but also my husband and I have found ourselves coming here as an after-movie night spot.
Epic Pizza 1711 S Ninth St. Saint Louis, MO 63104
Located in Soulard and a hidden gem, I would say. This is a great spot to walk in to buy by the slice or the whole pie. We often find ourselves at this location either before or after the ball games, GO CARDS! They offer outdoor dining, happy hour, and late nights – it closes about 1:30am. It is more of a brick-oven-fired pizza, but they offer a variety of toppings, and it is very inexpensive. My children love that they are able to watch the pizza be made. The service alone is what brings us back each time, top quality as far as what they offer. They’ve been around for well over a decade so if you ever find yourself searching for a quick and easy dine on the spot, make sure to keep them in mind. I almost forgot; it is said that they have the BEST wings compared to anywhere else.
Angelo’s Pizzeria 4814 Parker Rd, Florissant, MO 63033
A tremendous hole-in-the-wall pizza spot located in North County. They offer a variety of things, but we’ve only tried the pizza, and for a small family-run business, I’d say they are doing pretty well. A little pricier compared to chain locations but definitely worth a try to support local. I wouldn’t suggest this as a dine-out, more like an order to go or delivery. A complete No-Co staple!
