World War II Christmas at Jefferson Barracks Park

On Saturday, 16 December 2023, the area around the Laborers House in Jefferson Barracks will shift into being a farmhouse in Belgium in December of 1944. Visit with a unit of American G.I.s celebrating a Christmas far from home. The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm and is free to the public.

 

Christmas Candlelight Walks: St. Charles

Experience a night of warmth and beauty this holiday season at The Historic Daniel Boone Home. Step back in time to observe Christmas traditions of the past while strolling through the enchanting village illuminated with thousands of lantern-lit candles. Along the way, visit with “Daniel and Rebecca Boone” inside the Boone Home as they reminisce about winters past.

Guests will tour the inside of the home and hear different storytellers inside buildings throughout the historic village grounds. Limited tickets will be available to reserve between 6:00 and 9:00 PM. The cost is $15 per person and may not be available at the door if the program sells out. Upon arrival, guests are assigned to tour the Boone Home and each tour is limited to 15 guests at a time. Each Christmas vignette throughout the village will repeat every 8 – 10 minutes. Guests may visit vignettes before and after their Boone Home tour. No flash photography or video recording allowed. Tickets are nonrefundable. 

Candlelight Christmas Walk

Over a thousand luminaries light the way as visitors wander through the historic town visiting shops and galleries showcasing unique and distinctive gift ideas including hand-blown glass, local artisans, paintings, and jewelry. Food vendors, restaurants, wineries & brewery pull out all the stops to entice the culinary pallet with traditional holiday fare. Hop on board the free trolley to quickly get around town or use it to join-in the scavenger hunt featuring fabulous prizes.

Settle under a blanket and enjoy a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride through the crisp winter air, then warm yourself around the bonfire while savoring freshly roasted chestnuts. Afterwards, enjoy Christmas caroling in the historic Ebenezer church or listen in wonder to roving carolers. Take a step back in time and see a “German Immigrant Home at Christmas” at the Augusta History Museum. The 1856 house features a traditional cedar Christmas tree, historic Creches and German Christmas Cards. Hear about “White Gifts” and wooden “Pyramid” trees from the town historian.”

An Old Fashioned Christmas

Lafayette Square Holiday Parlor Tour

Lafayette Square Historic District

Ticket holders will be welcomed into 11 homes ready for the holiday season in this self-guided walking tour. Each home is unique in its character and history, reflecting the uniqueness and diversity of this neighborhood’s residents.

Ticket holders can enjoy carriage rides in the park, and trolley stops around the neighborhood.

This event takes place rain or shine.

Tickets available for $35. VERY Limited day-of tickets available at $40 each.

Webster Groves Holiday House Tour

The Hixson Middle School Parent Teacher Organization, part of the Webster Groves School District, is excited to announce the 31st Annual Webster Groves Holiday House Tour, presented by The Joel Svoboda Team. On Sunday, December 3, from 2-6 p.m., eight beautiful Webster Groves homes will be featured with holiday decor, music by Hixson Middle School student musical ensembles, and more. 

Tickets are $35 in advance and are available now online at https://bit.ly/WGHouseTourTickets or at the below QR code. Tickets may also be purchased at Straub’s (211 Lockwood Ave.) or Freddie’s Market (9052 Big Bend Blvd.). 

An outdoor boutique featuring eighteen different vendors will also be a part of this year’s tour, reviving a longstanding tradition for the tour. The holiday boutique will be an additional stop on the tour and 18 different vendors will be feature. The boutique will be open from 2-7pm on Sunday, December 3rd during the house tour.

Several unique homes are included in the tour, including a home filled with model trains, a modern condo unit, the Historic Hawken House Museum (photo below), a Tudor Revival cottage, a Colonial Revival home, and a Victorian Vernacular Farmhouse. 

Wentzville Historical Society's 4rd Annual Holiday Home Tour

Join the Wentzville Community Historical Society on Sunday, December 10th for their fifth annual Holiday Home Tour. The tour this year will be a driving tour, and will start at the Historical Center (310 W. Pearce Blvd). From there you’ll be able to drive and enter several decorated homes in downtown Wentzville. Afterwards, you are invited to continue the fun at Friendship Brewery Company, where you will be given a free drink ticket, and be eligible for a lovely gift basket. There will also be 50/50 raffle tickets for sale.

The homes will be open from 3 to 7 pm (last tour starts at 6 pm). Tickets are $20, and may be purchased before the event at Historical Center (310 W. Pearce Blvd) M-F, 10-2., or can be purchased the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the Wentzville Community Historical Society.

Historic Florissant Christmas House Tour

Kick off the holiday season during Historic Florissant’s Annual Christmas House Tour.  Purchase tickets early for this event as it sells out fast! Visit 15 sites in the Old Town Florissant area. Travel by car, golf cart or walk at your own pace to visit private homes, museums, and merchants all decorated for Christmas. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the Florissant Marketplace, Korte’s Frame Shop and Dooley’s Florist all located on St. Francois Street. Tickets may also be purchased at the Gittemeier House or over the phone by calling 314-565-1468.

Hermann Holiday House Tour

The Hermann Trolley will be providing rides for $5 from house-to-house for those houses on the tour located in city limits.
