Never Give Up on You

No matter what, never give up, Mama.

Hey mama…. I see you.

I know, I know….

Life can be hard, unfair, painful, and confusing.  Sometimes it is overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel defeated.  You may face situations that you don’t think you can overcome, and you just want to give up.  You may lose faith and give up on yourself, on others, and even on your biggest dreams.

I want to encourage you today to never give up, despite whatever adversity you might face.

To be frank, rejection is a fact of life in whatever you pursue, whether in your relationships, your career, or even your hobbies. So how does one stay positive and stay the course when confronted by adversity?

Formulate goals, map out your strategy, and keep pushing forward, no matter what. Let go of any failures that happen along the way but learn from them. Lean on friends and family for support and advice. Always assume things will go well, do your best, and when all is done, be proud that you gave it your all, no matter what.

PLEASE, FRIEND… NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU

This is your life; shape it, or someone else will.  Strength shows not only in the ability to hold on, but in the ability to start over when you must.  It is never too late to become what you might have been.  Keep learning, adapting, and growing.  You may not be there yet, but you are closer today than you were yesterday.

ALWAYS FOCUS ON MAKING SMALL, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS

Henry Ford once said, “Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small pieces.” This philosophy holds true for achieving your biggest goals.  Making small, positive changes – eating a little healthier, exercising a little, creating some small productive habits, for example, is an amazing way to get excited about life and slowly reach your goals.

If you start small, you don’t need a lot of motivation to get started.  The simple act of getting started and doing something will give you the momentum you need, and soon you’ll find yourself in a positive spiral of changes, each one building on the other.

Start with just one activity, and make a plan for how you will deal with troubles when they arise.  For instance, if you’re trying to lose weight, come up with a list of healthy snacks you can eat.  It will be hard in the beginning, but it will get easier.  And that’s the whole point … as your strength grows, you can take on bigger challenges.

WHAT YOU DO EVERY DAY IS WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT

The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do. You don’t have to be great to get started, but you do have to get started to be great.  Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.  Remember, people seldom do things to the best of their ability; they do things to the best of their willingness.  Follow your heart and do something every day that your future self will thank you for.

You are amazing and worthy and capable of incredible things! Give today all you’ve got and see just how well it impacts your life tomorrow!

Meg xoxo
